Yolanda Tiera Tillman, C.I.D. IDS Affiliate, DSA, CSP

Inspired by family and friends to see beauty and décor in the home, Yolanda’s belief is that the home environment should be warm and inviting to yourself and those who enter in. Her middle name “Tiera” which the Washington, DC home based interior decorating business is named after, means “Earth”. Therefore, Tiera Interiors possesses a deep love and compassion for homeland. The goal of Tiera Interiors is to offer unique design solutions to meet client’s lifestyle requirements and budgets. In 2002, with a desire to offer her clients a higher level of service with professionalism, she obtained her business license through the Government District of Columbia Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs. She has over 30 years of experience in redesign and decorated residential and commercial properties, and provided service to church renovation planning. Yolanda enrolled as a student with the Penn Foster Career School (formerly Thomson Education Direct) Interior Decorating Program. She passed the entrance exam to Certified Interior Decorator International in 2003, and was immediately accepted as a Certified Interior Decorator.  Yolanda also holds an Associate, Bachelor, and Master Degree in Business Administration from Strayer University.  She is also a dedicated member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

In order to serve her clients in the area of home staging, she went on to complete the “Staging Diva Home Staging Training Program” in 2009 and completed the Dewey Color Coordinator Training in 2010.  Yolanda continued her home staging training by successfully completing the extensive training through CSP. The CSP designation is recognized globally by real estate professionals, builders, home stagers, decorators and the average home seller for its brand reputation of excellence. It identifies home staging consultants who have earned a certification in the staging industry that include quality training with vigorous testing and hands-on apprenticeship. Yolanda’s commitment is to offer the highest standard of Interior Decorating services at an affordable cost. She truly upholds her motto, “going the extra mile with a smile!”

Community Involvement

Tiera Interiors is dedicated to making the local community a better place. One of the ways in accomplishing this goal is by getting involved and especially supporting local as well as national non-profits. Tiera Interiors support American Diabetes Association @ www.diabetes.org. The American Diabetes Association’s mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

Tiera Interiors has established partnership with another non-profit organization called “A Wider Circle” www.awidercircle.org who provide basic need items to families transitioning out of Shelters, and furnish over 1,000 homes for children and adults. Tiera Interiors has made contributions to "A Wider Circle" by having her clients and friends donate (new-used) furniture, and clothing to support those in need as a result of crisis such as burnt out homes, or homeless individuals who need a hand up, not a hand down. Upon request, Tiera Interiors is available in providing decorating services to those families in need to make their homes more beautiful in challenging circumstances to others who enter in.
